Connecticut congressman on Bill Pulte and Russia-Ukraine war

(CBS, KYMA) - Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) spoke with Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation Sunday about Bill Pulte.

Rep. Himes criticized President Donald Trump's decision to tap Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence saying, "He doesn't have an iota of national security experience."

He added, "There is no way that the authorities and assets of the intelligence community can be in the hands of an individual who showed that his sole reason for being in Washington is to do the president's political laundry."

During the interview, Brennan and Himes talked about the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Himes, who recently met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, said, "The Ukrainians are inflicting a mind-boggling number of deaths on the Russians."

He says, "The Russian casualties are like 30,000 a month. It's just staggering. I mean, it's like a Vietnam every two months for the Russians there. So, make no mistake, the Ukrainians are winning this war."
