Tracking a warm Memorial Day weekend

weather Authority/ KYMA

As we are heading into the holiday weekend, and if you are staying in town, we are in for warm and sunny weather. Tracking slightly above-normal temperatures through early next week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Friday! It's been another warm and sunny day with highs trending close to our average or slightly above normal for late May. Take a look.

Going into the hours ahead, we are in for clear skies and warm temperatures to start off the evening. It will become cooler as the night goes on, and we will have a light breeze with winds coming from the south/southeast and gusts between 10-15 MPH.

It's also graduation night for a lot of local schools across the Desert Southwest, so if you are attending any graduation ceremonies this evening or going out to celebrate tonight, the weather will be great.

Tracking a quick warm up as our temperatures will be trending slightly warmer than normal this weekend and through early next week. Some areas in the region could reach the triple-digit mark, but most areas will have highs of 90 degrees or higher.

It will be a fantastic holiday weekend with warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. It will be a little breezy at times with winds coming from the south/southeast and gusts up to 20 MPH, but nothing too overly gusty.

I am tracking temperatures to cool down by the middle of the week with another warm-up to return late next week.

With the holiday weekend, if you are going to be outdoors at the pool or lake, remember to practice heat and water safety.

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend.
