Google announces revamp to search bar

Google

(CNN, KYMA) - Google wants to keep its edge in the internet space it once completely dominated: Search.

The company unveiled new artificial intelligence (AI) powered features for its search engine Tuesday. It comes as chatbots from OpenAI and Anthropic are eroding its share of the category.

Among the biggest changes are users will be able to create agents in Google search that can work on their own over time.

The example Google cited was agents could be used to keep users aware of new announcements from their favorite brands or athletes.

Users will also notice an expanded search bar that enables them to type in more conversational queries.

Google is planning to spend up to $190 billion this year on AI.
