San Diego PD provides update on mosque shooting

CBS Miami

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, NBC) - The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) is holding a press conference Tuesday.

According to a press release obtained by NBC News, the press conference is to provide updates on the mosque shooting that happened Monday.

SDPD confirmed Monday that two teenage gunmen, identified as 17-year-old Cain Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Vasquez, opened fire, killing three adults, including a security guard.

After the shooting, SDPD says the gunmen were found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound blocks away from the mosque.

Just a few hours after their deaths, NBC News says SDPD, in SWAT gear, surrounded Vasquez's home on Paradise Trail in Chula Vista.

SDPD says they have created a temporary website where important information from the press conference will be shared.

In addition, SDPD says the FBI is seeking information on the shooting, and is urging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI, or click here.
