President Trump nominates Kari Lake as Ambassador to Jamaica

(CNN, KYMA) - President Donald Trump has nominated Kari Lake as Ambassador to Jamaica.

The White House made the announcement Monday.

Lake is a former news anchor. The 56-year-old Arizona Republican lost the gubernatorial and Senate races in 2022 and 2024.

In March, a federal judge found lake unlawfully ran the U.S. Agency for Global Media last year for several months.

If a committee approves the nomination, the full Senate will vote on confirmation.
