Shindo headlines Arizona Western’s postseason honors with ACCAC Player of the Year award

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College baseball is bringing home some major postseason hardware after a standout 2026 season in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference.

Matadors infielder Ten Shindo was named the ACCAC Division I Player of the Year, highlighting a strong year for Arizona Western as multiple players earned all-conference and defensive honors.

Shindo was also selected to the All-ACCAC/All-Region First Team and earned a Gold Glove award at shortstop, cementing himself as one of the top all-around players in junior college baseball this season.

Arizona Western also had several other players recognized across the conference awards.

Filippo Baldassari earned First Team honors as a relief pitcher after playing a key role out of the bullpen throughout the year.

On the All-ACCAC/All-Region Second Team, the Matadors were represented by Gregorys Mateo as a relief pitcher, Jaime Beerman as an infielder, Parker Husu in the outfield, Victor Lopez at catcher, and Gerardo Castro as a designated hitter.

Beerman also picked up a Gold Glove award at first base, while Luis Angulo was recognized with a Gold Glove in the outfield.

The conference championship was won by the College of Southern Nevada, while Nick Garritano was named Coach of the Year and Coyotes ace James Bradford earned Pitcher of the Year honors.

Arizona Western’s strong showing in the postseason awards reflects another successful season for the Matadors program as they continue to compete among the top junior college baseball teams in the conference.
