Heat nears triple digits for the weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - As calendars move towards the summer, so are the Desert Southwest's temperatures.

This weekend will feature max temps in the mid-to-high 90s. Saturday, Yuma is expected to reach 98°F, while El Centro can anticipate a high of 97°F. Sunday will be right around the same for both cities.

Winds will be steady for Saturday, but not too strong. Gusts will reach up to 15mph throughout the day and night.

This will carry through Sunday afternoon before both sides of the state border can prepare for some more major gusts.

As of right now, they are trending upwards to 25mph Sunday evening.

Clouds should be at a minimum, so the sun is expected to play a prominent factor in weekend weather once again.
