Mexicali man arrested after stabbing dog to death on camera

MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) - A man in Mexicali was caught on camera after stabbing a dog to death  video showed the man had become upset with the dog after she knocked over his trash.

The dog, named Honey, was four-years-old and had eight puppies.

The man was detained, but animal rights advocates are demanding that this case does not go unpunished.

"He is a danger to the community; he is a psychopath. This person, without a shred of remorse, ended with the life of honey...Today, it was her. Tomorrow, it could be a child. We are tired of animal cruelty," said Isabel Rubio, an animal rights activist.

The puppies were placed under the care of the Animal Control Department in Mexicali.
