Pilot injured after small plane crashes in auto part store’s parking lot in California

PACOIMA, Calif. (CNN, KYMA) - A small plane crashed in the Los Angeles suburb of Pacoima Monday.

Authorities said the aircraft hit a high-voltage power pole before it flipped and crashed into the parking lot of an auto parts store.

The pilot of the plane was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, and the emergency response included tending to an apparent fuel spill near the wreckage of the Cessna.

There was an evacuation of some nearby businesses and homes while utility workers were restoring power to the lines.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
