Multiple homes in Minnesota damaged due to storm

OLMSTED COUNTY, Minn. (NBC, KYMA) - Multiple homes suffered damage after several unconfirmed tornadoes moved through Minnesota's Olmsted County Friday.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) said eight homes had major damage in Stewartville and another 14 had minor damage.

In Marion Township, 30 homes were damaged, 12 of which suffered "significant" damage.

Meanwhile, a temporary shelter was established in Rochester for displaced residents. As of Friday night, it was housing an estimated 30 to 50 individuals.

While there have been no fatalities or injuries, the Olmsted County Board has issued a disaster declaration.

"At this time, and we are very thankful for this, there has been no injuries reported and obviously fatalities reported," said Sheriff Kevin Torgerson with OCSO.
