President Trump issues new threat against Iran after peace talks failed

(NBC, KYMA) - President Donald Trump issued new threats against Iran Sunday after peace talks held Saturday failed.

The president, in a post to social media, accused Iran of trying to extort vessels for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and said the U.S. Navy will begin the process of setting up a blockade if it is not reopened.

President Trump also threatened to resume the conflict, adding the U.S. military is "locked and loaded," and said Iranian forces that fire on U.S. vessels with be "blown to hell."

In another social media post, Trump wrote that while points of a peace plan had been agreed to, Iran's refusal to give up its nuclear ambitions is why negations failed.
