Tracking a lower-pressure system to arrive this weekend, which will result in stronger winds and cooler temperatures.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Thursday! It was slightly a little cooler this afternoon with more clouds.

Heading into the evening we will continue to have partly to cloudy skies, with warm, but mild temperatures. It will also be a little breezy with gusts up to 20 MPH for us here in Yuma.

Speaking of winds, tracking westerly winds with gusts 20-30 MPH. Stronger winds will prevail in Imperial County.

With these stronger westerly winds impacting Imperial County, there is an Air Quality Alert until 11 p.m. Friday because of the blowing dust and sand.

A lower-pressure system will arrive this weekend, which will result in stronger winds and cooler temperatures.

Rain chances are not looking likely as rain chances continue to sit at 10%. I will keep tracking and bring more details if anything changes.

More westerly winds will continue favor in Imperial County again on Friday.

Widespread breezy and windy conditions will impact the Desert Southwest Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will cool down nicely as we will reach the low 80s by Sunday. Gustier winds will take over throughout the weekend, with even cooler temperatures by Monday.

Tracking warmer temperatures making a return late next week.
