So far, 2026 has been an overall very dry year with the warmest temperatures for January, February, and March. Take a our latest year-to-date temperatures and precipitation outlook released by NOAA. Take a look.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Year-to-date temperatures are the warmest in the recorded period of record (since 1895) for every state in the southwest 1/3 of the country.

In fact, just about every county in these states is the warmest recorded for January, February, and March.

This is according to the latest report released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

Take a look at Arizona, the state was ranked 132, which is the warmest.

Precipitation year-to-date in Arizona ranks as the 28th driest on record (since 1895), the totals ranged widely across the state from slightly above normal in the southeast (Cochise County) to much below normal in the southwest (Yuma County).

Yuma County is ranked 12th, which is one of the driest out of the whole state.

Now, let's look at where Yuma stands with our yearly rain total. Since the start of the year, so far for 2026, Yuma has accumulated a 0.03", which is a very small amount, but it is something. And comparing it with our 2026 yearly average, we actually should be at 1.27", which is well-below-normal.

However, with what Yuma has accumulated so far for 2026 and comparing it to our total around this same time back in 2025, we were actually at 0.07" in 2025.
