Tracking warm weather for now, with cooler and winds ahead

Right now, a ridge of high pressure is staying in place, keeping us warm and dry. Tracking more clouds by Thursday, followed by an incoming lower-pressure system, which will drop our temperatures and bring in stronger winds.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Wednesday! Today was the warmest day of the week as highs climbed into the upper 90s. Both Yuma and El Centro reached 98 degrees this afternoon. Thankfully, I am tracking cooler temperatures for the weekend.

This extra warmth will linger into the evening, but once the sun goes down, it will be pleasant. It will be a nice evening to go out for a walk or maybe sit outside on the patio.

A ridge of high pressure will be in place for now, keeping us warm for now. Tracking an incoming lower-pressure system to move in this weekend to bring in cooler temperatures, stronger winds, and higher rain chances in the region.

Winds will begin to pick-up toward the west starting Thursday afternoon. Tracking westerly winds with gusts 20-30 MPH.

Rain chances have really decreased since yesterday. Right now, we are looking to see slight to no rain chances this weekend. I will keep tracking and bring more details as we get closer to the weekend.

We do have a nice cooling trend for the remainder of the week, and by the weekend, highs will drop into the 80s. Also, tracking stronger winds throughout the weekend with slight to no rain chances expected.
