California man missing from Seaside hotel

SEASIDE, Calif. (CNN, KYMA) - A search is underway for a California man who has been missing for a week.

Dewayne Williams of San Francisco went missing last Monday, and authorities believe his disappearance is suspicious.

Williams' wife says she and her husband were in town last weekend to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Last monday, Williams went to the beach, but returned, and went out again to a bus stop where he left his jacket. He hasn't been seen since.

Williams' wife says her 34-year-old husband does not suffer from any medical conditions.

"His disappearance is extremely unusual. He's never done this before," said Chief Nick Borges with the Seaside Police Department (SPD). "This is a young man. From what we have the information, he's healthy. He doesn't suffer from any type of mental condition. There's no reports of any substance abuse. No reports of him being suicidal."

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen Williams to contact the SPD.
