Weather Authority/ KYMA

Above normal temperatures with afternoon highs in the 90s through the week as a high-pressure system prevails over the Desert Southwest. Tracking much bigger changes late this week and into the weekend. Stay tuned.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Monday! It's a warm start to the week as highs are trending warmer than normal and in the low to mid 90s.

For the hours ahead, skies will be clearer than earlier today with light winds and warm, but mild temperatures.

A ridge of high pressure will stay in place this week, keeping our temperatures warmer than normal for early April. Dry conditions and light winds will also continue through the work.

Tracking plenty of sunshine and a little warming through the middle of the week, where highs will climb into the upper 90s.

Another stronger weather system is likely going to affect the Desert Southwest late this week and into the weekend, leading to cooler temperatures, breezier conditions, and increasing rain chances.

Speaking of rain chances, we have a 20-30% chance for showers for the weekend.

With this round of rain could bring slightly above-normal rainfall. We will see and I will bring more details as we get closer to the weekend. Stay tuned!
