Josh Johnson to host 2026 Webby Awards

(CBS, KYMA) - The Webby Awards announced Wednesday that comedian Josh Johnson is hosting the 2026 awards.

Johnson is best known for his work on the Daily Show where he now works as one of the rotating hosts.

Past Webby Awards hosts have included Ilana Glazer, Amber Ruffin, Roy Wood Jr., Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate and Nick Offerman.

2026 marks the 30th year of the awards, which has honored excellence on the internet since its founding in 1996.

The Webby Awards accepts eight types of entries: Websites & Mobile Sites, Video & Film, Advertising/Media and PR, Podcasts, Social & Games, Apps/Software & Immersive, Creators, and AI.

The AI section is new to this year's Webby Awards. The organization says the categories within the AI section "celebrate how AI is shaping the way we live, work, and play."
