MGN

MIAMI, (KYMA, KECY) - Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo delivered one of the greatest scoring performances in NBA history Tuesday night, pouring in 83 points in a 150–129 win over the Washington Wizards.

The historic performance now stands as the second-highest single-game scoring total in NBA history, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point performance in 1962 remains ahead of Adebayo on the all-time list.

Adebayo got off to a scorching start, scoring 31 points in the first quarter and finishing the first half with 43 points, setting a Miami franchise record for points in a half.

The 28-year-old center finished the night shooting 20-of-43 from the field, knocking down seven three-pointers, and going 36-of-43 from the free-throw line while also grabbing nine rebounds.

In the process, Adebayo set new NBA single-game records for both free throws made and attempted, breaking marks previously held by Dwight Howard and Adrian Dantley.

The performance also shattered the Miami Heat franchise scoring record, previously set by LeBron James with 61 points in 2014.
