Tracking cool afternoons and cold mornings

A quick lower-pressure system followed by a cold front arrives today, keeping our temperatures cooler than normal. Tracking warmer and lighter winds for the weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of the Desert Southwest for southwesterly winds and gusts between 45-55 MPH. This will stay in place for these areas until early Friday morning.

Winds are much lighter than what we felt yesterday, but still breezy today.

We will have winds coming from the west/southwest with gusts 20-30 MPH. Stronger winds will favor toward the west through early tomorrow morning. Calmer winds will move in tomorrow.

I am tracking a quick lower-pressure system followed by a cold front moving in today and it will keep our temperatures cooler than normal for the next few days before we have another pattern change arrives.

Prepare for another cold morning with overnight lows dipping to the low 40s and some dropping to the upper 30s. Bundle up and stay warm, and remember the 4 P's: PEOPLE, PETS, PLANTS, AND PIPES.

Winds will be lighter for Friday and through the weekend, but we will have cool afternoons and cold mornings through Saturday.

Looking ahead to our next incoming warm-up, we will have well-above-normal temperatures come next week where highs will warm into the low 90s. Enjoy the cooler weather while you can.
