NBC News poll says Americans are losing confidence in Trump Administration’s immigration agenda
(NBC, KYMA) - A new NBC News Decision Desk poll shows Americans are losing confidence in the Trump Administration's immigration agenda.
49% of adults now strongly disapprove of how President Donald Trump handled border security and immigration. That's up from 38% when they asked last summer, and only 27% said they strongly approve.
66% of respondents in the survey-monkey poll say they strongly disapprove of the job U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is doing.
34% strongly approve of how ICE is handling immigration enforcement.
When asked about recent tactics by ICE officers and Border Patrol agents, 67% of adults surveyed say that they've gone too far. 23% say the tactics have been about right. With 10% saying they haven't gone far enough.
Nearly three-quarters of poll respondents say they want to see ICE either reformed or abolished. 43% want it reformed. 29% want it abolished, with an equal amount, 29%, wanting ICE to continue in its current form.
