‘Send Help’ tops Super Bowl weekend
(CNN, KYMA) - Even on Super Bowl weekend, plenty of people went to the movies, with one of them staying the number one spot.
Vertical Entertainment's "Dracula," directed by Luc Besson, debuted in fifth place, grossing $4.5 million.
Universal's "Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience" made $5.6 million, opening at number four.
"Iron Lung," which was directed and self-produced by YouTuber Markiplier, took third place with $6.7 million, giving the $3 million indie film a domestic total of $31.4 million.
Angel Studios' "Solo Mio," starring Kevin James, and is about an American left at the altar in Rome, earned $7.2 million to debut in second place.
20th Century Studios' "Send Help," a horror-comedy starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien and directed by Sam Raimi, took in $10 million to keep the weekend crown.
