‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ to end after seven seasons

(CNN, KYMA) - "The Kelly Clarkson Show" will end after its current on-air season. Clarkson and NBCUniversal made the announcement Monday.

In a statement posted to social media, the singer and host said she made the decision to step away to prioritize time with her two young children.

Clarkson's ex-husband and father to her children, Brandon Blackstock, died from cancer last year.

Production of season seven of the show will continue as scheduled, with episodes expected to air through the fall.
