Orange County health officials confirm new measles case, possible exposure at Disneyland

(NBC, KYMA) - Orange County health officials are confirming a new measles case tied to recent travel through Southern California and a possible exposure at one of the region's busiest tourist destinations.

Health officials in Orange County have confirmed their second measles case of 2026, involving an international traveler who arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) before visiting Disneyland last week.

According to a news release issued Saturday, the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) says it was notified by the California Department of Public Health and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Officials say the traveler arrived at LAX before traveling to Orange County on Wednesday, January 28.

Health officials identified several potential public exposure locations, including Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, and both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

OCHCA's Communicable Disease Control Division says it is working closely with Disneyland officials to notify any employees who may have been exposed, as well as coordinating with Los Angeles County and LAX officials.
