CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Heavy snow hits South Carolina

LAKE WYLIE, S.C. (CBS, KYMA) - Intense wind and snow lashed parts of South Carolina over the weekend as a winter storm swept through the region.

Footage shared on X by user @matthewdf144 shows blowing winds and snow lashing Lake Wylie Saturday.

"Lake Wylie SC white out conditions 2-3 inches," he wrote in a post on X.

The National Weather Service (NWS) urged locals to avoid traveling saying "any slushy/wet roads will quickly become solid ice after sunset, if not before."

As of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday, the NWS said the heaviest snow bands had "shifted to the east" and left the region.
