Winds decline, but temperatures still rising

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Temperatures continue their ascend towards the 80s this week. Today, highs are reaching 78°F in the Imperial Valley, while Yuma County is sitting a couple degrees cooler.

After high winds on our Arizona side of the region, gusts are calming down and will remain that way heading into at least tomorrow morning. Across the state border, California residents of the Desert Southwest have not dealt with as high of winds and can expect to experience the same thing over the course of the same time frame.

Friday afternoon could see gusts pick back up above 15mph in Yuma County, even reaching 20mph. Imperial County will not see this increase in wind gusts but both counties will see temperatures hit 80°F.

Clouds are expected to disappear tomorrow across the Desert Southwest, making for a weekend full of sunshine. Don't let the beautiful weather go to waste!
