Nevada senator calls for impeachment of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem
(CNN, KYMA) - Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) is calling for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Sen. Rosen says Secretary Noem should be removed from her job over the way she has handled and reacted to ICE enforcement incidents in Minneapolis.
The operation has led to two killings of American citizens. The most recent incident happened Saturday when a Border Patrol agent shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti.
Rosen said Noem and her department's latest attempt to mislead the American public about Pretti's shooting is in her words deeply shameful.
Noem has said Pretti brandished a weapon at officers during an enforcement operation, and the officers responded in self-defense, but no video has emerged of the scene that backs up Noem's claim.
