Chargers expected to hire former Miami Head Coach Mike McDaniel

McDaniel is expected to join Jim Harbaugh and his staff in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (KYMA) - A report came out Tuesday night that former Miami Dolphins head coach and offensive guru Mike McDaniel is expected to join Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers as their new Offensive Coordinator.

Despite the deal not being official, it's reported moving back to California where McDaniel spent years with the San Francisco 49ers and working with Justin Herbert is a major draw in his decision.

Even though he's gone 0-2 in the playoffs, the hope is for the 42-year-old to add a spark to a Chargers offense that also fell flat in their recent playoff appearances, scoring just one touchdown in their previous two playoff games.

McDaniel is known for innovative motions and condensed formations that put opposing defenses in a bind, and McDaniel's approach changed offenses league-wide, helping the Dolphins to sixth in total yards in 2022 as their head coach.
