Prince Harry testifies in Daily Mail trial in London
LONDON (CBS, KYMA) - Prince Harry testified Wednesday in London in the latest lawsuit against a British tabloid.
It's his third attempt to call out news coverage he says went too far.
Prince Harry's testimony was a blow-by-blow of examples of alleged press intrusion, highlighting 14 articles published when he was in his early 20s.
He suggests phone hacking or deception could've been the only way the details leaked.
Many of the artciles feature his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy and another, Natalie Pinkham. He describes how the "creepy" articles caused mistrust and led to the breakdown of these relationships. In essence, blaming the press for a series of break ups.
Harry's fight is bigger than just this one case. It's a mission he's been on for nearly a decade, and very personal him, at least in part because of his mother, Princess Diana, who he referenced during his testimony, saying an article detailing a phone call he had with Prince William.
The Associated Newspapers reject all charges of illegal news-gathering.
At one point in court, Prince Harry was close to tears, testifying that tabloids made his wife Meghan's life "an absolute misery."
