Arizona Western basketball programs remain undefeated in conference play

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Matadors are proving to be a force in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference, as they both picked up dominant wins against the Southern Nevada Coyotes.
The women's team got things started with their contest. After a 9-4 finish to the first quarter, things began to swing in favor of the Matadors quickly. They worked their way to a 21-8 lead after a Marta Vieira three-pointer, forcing a Coyotes timeout.
The game didn't get any closer after that as Arizona Western cruised to a 72-39 win. They improve to 10-7 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
As for the men, they saw a similar trend in their game against Southern Nevada.
They took a comfortable 95-76 win thanks to 24 points and seven rebounds from forward Marsai Mason. He was 7-9 from the field and 9-10 from the charity stripe. Forward Mario Brunetto also added 14 points in 12 minutes off of the bench.
The men now sit at 13-5 on the season and 4-0 in the ACCAC.
