Masked ICE agent shoves Minneapolis City Council president

MINNEAPOLIS (CBS, KYMA) - A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was seen shoving Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne during a clash with protesters near a bus stop in northeast Minneapolis Monday.

Footage filmed by Minneapolis City Council Member Jason Chavez shows an officer wearing an Enforcement and Removal Operations uniform pushing Payne, as well as another protester, on a public sidewalk.

In an Instagram post sharing the video, Payne said ICE agents had "indiscriminately stopped" a citizen at the bus stop before he was shoved.

"If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our city," he said.
