Anonymous person wins $1.8B Christmas Eve jackpot in Arkansas

CBS

(KYMA) - We now turn to the happiest of year-end holiday seasons for an extremely lucky person, or group, in Arkansas.

A single ticket from a gas station outside Little Rock produced the massive Christmas Eve jackpot worth over $1.8 billion.

Its buyer has remained anonymous.

The golden ticket was purchased at a gas station in Cabot, just outside Little Rock.

The winner gets a choice between a lump sum cash payout of nearly $835 million before taxes or $1.8 billion paid out over 30 years.

The odds of winning is one in 292 million, meaning it's more likely to be struck by lightning twice, than take home that Powerball Jackpot.
