Jim Beam to temporarily pause operations in January

CLERMONT, Ky. (NBC, KYMA) - Jim Beam's main distillery in Clermont, Kentucky will temporarily pause operations starting in January 2026.

They say part of the issue concerns supply as Kentucky has more than 16 million aging barrels of bourbon warehouses.

The state charges taxes on those barrels.

A state trade group says distillers paid $75 million for those aging barrels this year, a 27% jump from a year ago.

As of now, no layoffs have been announced as a result of the pause.
