Second installment of ‘Stranger Things’ season five premieres on Christmas Day

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA) - The wait is almost over for the second installment of "Stranger Things" season five.

Three more episodes of the final season hit Netflix this Thursday on Christmas Day, with the "Hawkins crew" banding together to finally stop Vecna and the Upside Down from bleeding into their hometown.

The stars, who have worked together for nearly ten years, hit the red carpet in New York City last week for a special screening of the latest volume, along with show creators, the Duffer Brothers.

"I'm honored. I feel blessed. I'm humbled...I'm happy that I have a great cast to be a part of and experience this journey," said Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair on the show.

"Now, we've taken so long that someone that was not born on Season 1 can now watch the show as Season 5 comes out, but it's exciting to see a new younger audience embrace it as well," said Ross Duffer, the show's co-creator.

The final, full length episode of "Stranger Things" drops on Netflix on New Year's Eve and will be shown in select theaters nationwide.
