Chargers get big road win in Dallas

DALLAS, Tex. (KYMA, KECY) - The Los Angeles Chargers took a trip to the Lone Star State to take on the Dallas Cowboys and try to keep pace in the AFC West race.
The Cowboys opened the game with possession and set the tone early, as quarterback Dak Prescott capped the opening drive with a touchdown pass to Ryan Flournoy. The score briefly gave Dallas the upper hand, but the Los Angeles Chargers responded quickly and decisively behind the arm of Justin Herbert.
Herbert answered with a deep strike down the sideline to Quentin Johnston, who secured the pass with an impressive one-handed catch. After falling behind 10–7, Herbert again found success attacking the secondary deep, this time connecting with Ladd McConkey, who was left wide open for a touchdown that put the Chargers in front.
The Cowboys matched the Chargers’ aerial success as Prescott delivered a deep pass to George Pickens, who broke free of coverage for a touchdown to keep the contest competitive. Both teams continued to trade big plays as the first half progressed.
Los Angeles had one more opportunity before halftime, and despite pressure forcing Herbert out of the pocket, he managed to extend the play and shovel a pass to Keenan Allen, who was brought down at the one-yard line. Herbert then finished the drive himself, sneaking the ball across the goal line for another Chargers touchdown.
In the final minutes of the game, the Chargers put the outcome beyond doubt. Rookie Omarion Hampton took a handoff to the right and powered his way into the end zone, effectively sealing the victory.
The Chargers earned a 34–17 win, keeping themselves firmly in the divisional race and maintaining an inside track to a playoff spot. They will look to build on the momentum when they return home for a matchup against the Baltimore Ravens next on the schedule.
