Tracking warm weather sticking around all week

Well-above-normal temperatures continue for the Desert Southwest, with highs staying in the upper 70s and low 80s. We may see a pattern change for Christmas week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Another well-above-normal day for the Desert Southwest.

El Centro also set a new record high for the day at 83 degrees, beating the previous record of 82 degrees set in 1929. This is the second day in a row that El Centro broke a daily record high.

A ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the region, keeping the Desert Southwest warm, sunny, and dry for the next several days.

Evenings still will be pretty chilly, and we can expect temperatures to cool down to the low 50s by Wednesday morning.

Our temperature outlook is still showing well above-average for the next 6-10 days, so really no big changes in the days ahead.

Daytime highs will remain consistent as highs will be in the 80s through the workweek, with slightly cooler temperatures for the final weekend before Christmas.

We are 5 days until it officially becomes the winter season, and I am tracking cooler, but still above-normal temperatures to kick off the season. However, we may see more changes by Christmas time.
