NBA player Chris Paul announces retirement

(CNN, KYMA) - Los Angeles Clippers player Chris Paul announced Saturday this season will be his last in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Paul is competing in his 21st year in the association.

The 40-year-old point guard wrote on social media that he still has so much left and he's grateful for this last season.

Paul has played for seven NBA teams, including the Phoenix Suns. This season, he is back with the Clippers, one of the teams where he had the most success.

Paul is the league's active leader in career assists and steals, and he and LeBron James are the only two players in NBA history to reach both 20,000 points and 10,000 assists.
