Shamrocks eye rematch against Marana

Yuma Catholic faces off against a familiar foe in Marana in the second round of the playoffs

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks will take on the Marana Tigers on the road in what is a Week 3 matchup.

The first go around, the Rocks struggled, losing 47-14, but they have improved as the season has gone on.

YC's Head Coach Vernon Smith reflected on the loss and how they can turn the tables this go around.

"We played well for a half, and then they exploded on us in the third quarter. Just, you know, take away the big plays and and keep competing and executing our game plan like usual and see if we can, lock in a little bit more on on the details and see if we can get a different outcome," Smith said.

The first go around against Marana, the Shamrocks had them at Ricky Gwynn. This time, they will have to hit the road, but that doesn't worry Coach Smith.

"We're used to traveling," Smith said. "Most of the time it's been Phoenix this season. But, we just focus on the game and what matters, we don't really worry about the stuff other than the game."

The game has kicked off in Marana. We'll have full updates on the game in NBC's Friday Night Lights.
