Staying warm for now with big weather changes on the way
Temperatures are staying unseasonably warm for now, with clouds continuing to increase. We have a big weather pattern change to bring chiller temperatures and rain chances later this week.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Since I was off yesterday, here's our temperature recap from yesterday. Monday afternoon, Yuma tied a record high of 91 degrees that was set back in 1956. El Centro broke a new record high, reaching 91 degrees, beating the record high of 90 degrees that was set back in 1934 and 1956.

For TODAY, no new daily record highs were met, but El Centro did TIE today's daily record high of 92 degrees that was set back in 1934. Yuma didn't tie or break any records this afternoon, but these temperatures were still well above-normal for this time of year.

Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who have served! thankfully, this evening we will cool down nicely with calm and quiet conditions.
Clouds will continue to increase through the night, but still staying pretty dry. Have a a safe and great rest of your Veterans Day!

By the middle of the week, we will have partly to mostly cloudy skies, but it will still stay comfortably dry for now.
A lower pressure and cold weather system continues to work its way from the west and is expected to arrive to the Desert Southwest by the end of the week bringing in colder and wet weather to our area.

We will have cloudy skies and slightly cooler temperatures by the middle of the week.
The first strong cold weather system of the season will then move through later this week and into the weekend, bringing a big cool down, chances of precipitation, and breezier conditions to the Desert Southwest.
Even next week I'm still tracking another system to bring us more chances for showers and keeping our afternoons and nights chilly.

LOOKING AHEAD: With this incoming weather system, Yuma has a 20-40% chance for showers Friday through Saturday. Slightly higher chances favor more in Imperial County with a 20-50% starting as early as Thursday night.

Rain totals right now are still uncertain, but right now, numbers are reading a tenth to nearly an inch of rain in some areas. I will keep tracking and bring more updates as we get closer. Stay tuned!

With this cold weather system we finally have a big cooldown on the way. On our temperature outlook we are seeing dark blues over the Desert Southwest, which that means well below-normal temperatures. Get your sweaters ready, we will need them soon for the chillier weather ahead.
