Quiet, mild stretch continues with breezy midweek winds

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A calm and comfortable pattern continues across the Desert Southwest this week, with temperatures hovering close to seasonal averages and little to no rain expected.

Highs will stay near 90 degrees through midweek under mostly sunny skies, though some thin high clouds will drift overhead today into Wednesday.

A weak system passing north of the region could bring a few sprinkles or very light showers late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning but most areas will stay dry.

Winds will pick up Wednesday afternoon, especially west of Yuma where gusts in the 30 to 40 mile-per-hour range are possible across Imperial County.

Conditions will settle again by Thursday as that system moves east.

Looking ahead, high pressure builds back in by Friday, bringing another stretch of quiet, dry weather into the weekend.

Highs will dip slightly into the lower 80s Thursday before rebounding to the mid and upper 80s Friday and Saturday.

Overall, the week ahead looks calm just a brief round of midweek clouds and wind before more sunshine returns.
