30 oversized basketballs displayed outside 30 Rock

NEW YORK (NBC, KYMA) - The NBA returns to NBC Tuesday night with a season opening doubleheader and the network is celebrating the reunion with a "30 Rocks" display outside its New York "30 Rock" headquarters.

Local artists in each of the NBA's 30 markets have decorated oversized "roundball rocks" with artwork reflecting their respective city, team and culture.

These special pieces of art are lining Rockefeller Plaza through Tuesday and getting the attention from thousands of passersby.

Once the display ends, each of the 30 rocks will be sent to their home market to be showcased locally.

The American Express NBA Tip-Off is taking place on Tuesday, October 21 on NBC and Peacock at 4:30 p.m. Pacific.
