Dodgers win Game 2 of NLCS behind Yamamoto’s complete game

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched all nine innings in Los Angeles' win on Tuesday night in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (KYMA) - After allowing a solo shot against Jackson Chourio in the first inning, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was nails on the mound throwing his first complete game as a Major Leaguer as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 at American Family Field Tuesday night in Game 2 of the NLCS.

Yamamoto threw the first complete postseason game since 2017, where Astros' Justin Verlander did so against the Yankees and was the first Dodger to complete the feat since Jose Lima in 2004.

He is also the first Japanese-born pitcher to go the distance in a playoff game.

On the offensive side of the ball, Teoscar Hernández tied the game up in the top of the second inning and from there on out it was all Los Angeles with an 11-hit outing.

The NLCS will resume with Game 3 on Thursday at 3:08 p.m.
