Dog in Arizona rescued after falling during a hike

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - A dog, injured in a fall during a hike, got a lift from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office's (MCSO) helicopter.

The dog's owner called deputies for help last week. It seems the dog had taken a fall and wasn't able to walk.

Rescuers found the dog, its owner and others waiting in a deep canyon near Battleship Rock. They were able to hoist the dog and its owner into the helicopter.

According to a post on Facebook, MCSO says the dog was taken to an emergency vet for treatment.
