House Democrats march to Speaker Johnson’s office to demand Rep.-Elect Adelita Grijalva’s swearing in

WASHINGTON (CNN, KYMA) - On Tuesday, Representative-Elect Adelita Grijalva and a group of House Democrats marched to Speaker Mike Johnson's office to demand she be sworn in, but Johnson did not appear to be in.

Grijalva, a Democrat from Arizona, was elected last month.

She is expected to be the deciding signature to force a vote on a House bill related to the release of the Jeffrey Epstein case files.

She suggested Tuesday it could be a reason for the delay because she says Johnson acted quickly to swear in other members after their special elections.

Johnson has repeatedly denied the delay is tied to the Epstein vote and previously said she will be sworn in once the House is in session.
