YouTube settles lawsuit with President Trump

(NBC, KYMA) - YouTube is settling a lawsuit with President Donald Trump.

The company said Monday they would pay $24 million to President Trump, which adds to a growing list of settlements with tech and media companies.

Trump sued YouTube after his account was banned back in 2021 after the January 6 riot.

YouTube said content on Trump's channel raised "concerns about the ongoing potential for violence."

His account was reinstated in 2023.

A notice of settlement for Trump's lawsuit against YouTube details that $22 million of it will go toward building a new White House ballroom.
