Tracking cooler temperatures and rain chances later this week

Temperatures will remain in the low 100s through Thursday. Thankfully, we will have fall-like temperatures later this week with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It may be fall, but it's not feeling like it. We had highs reach 105-106 degrees this afternoon, when our average high is 99 degrees for this time of year. And our overnight lows should also be around mid-70s and upper 60s for this time of year.

Going into the evening we will slowly cool down leading to overnight lows in the low 80s by Thursday morning. But we are still going to stay humid with dew points hanging out in the 50s and low 60s.

A lower pressure system will continue to move in from the west for the rest of the week, which will cool down our temperatures below average and bring in higher moisture levels.

We do have stronger winds on the way! Winds will strengthen Thursday afternoon/evening as we will have winds coming from the west with gusts of 20-30 MPH and carry through the night.

It will stay warm through Thursday, but come Friday, highs will be dropping into the low 90s. Overnight lows are looking great as we will be in the mid and low 70s for the next several days.

I am tracking showers and thunderstorms possible on Saturday as we have a 20-30% chance that day. I will keep tracking and bring more details as we get closer, rain totals are still uncertain.
