Cardinals are handed first loss of season
SAN FRANCISCO (KYMA) - The Arizona Cardinals have their first loss of the season at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers after dropping Sunday's game 16-15.
There was not much action in the first half but the third quarter saw a massive run from Trey Benson who took it up the middle of the offensive line to find daylight to the right sideline going down at the 14-yard line for a 29-yard run.
Benson took a bigger workload after James Conner was injured. Arizona would end up tying the game with a field goal.
On defense, they allowed San Francisco to drive the field, but Mack Wilson Jr. annihilated Christian McCaffrey on fourth down within the five-yard line to force a turnover on downs and keep the Cardinals in the game.
The following defensive drive saw a different result as Mac Jones drove the 49ers down the field and found Kyle Juszczyk for a touchdown.
Arizona answered as Murray tossed a pass up to Trey McBride for a touchdown.
The ensuing drive saw the Cardinals get a safety to gain the lead, but the 49ers had a chance to win still.
Mac Jones led the offense all the way down the field again, setting up Eddie Pineiro for a 36-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.
