Armed man detained at Charlie Kirk memorial site in Arizona

GLENDALE, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - An armed man, posing as a member of law enforcement, entered State Farm Stadium in Arizona where a memorial service for Charlie Kirk is set to take place Sunday.

The U.S. Secret Service says it happened Friday when the man was "exhibiting suspicious behavior."

Authorities say Joshua Runkles was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a weapon into a prohibited place.

While the Secret Service is investigating why he was there, Runkles has since been released on bond.

President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance are expected to attend the memorial service, which is expected to draw a massive crowd.
