Comedian Nate Bargatze previews 77th Annual Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Comedian Nate Bargatze is gearing up to host the 77th Annual Emmy Awards this weekend.

The 46-year-old Tennessee native became the highest grossing standup comedian in the country last year, and has hosted "Saturday Night Live" twice.

Appearing on CBS Morning Tuesday, Bargatze discussed his plan to bring "good, clean" humor to the Emmy stage.

"I'm sure we'll have jokes about shows and we will do that, but it's like...to do it in a way that's not mean or something like that...It will be fun to get in there, get on stage, get that first joke, hear that first laugh," Bargatze shared.

The 77th Emmy Awards airs Sunday, September 14 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific on CBS, channel 13, or streaming on Paramount+.
