Showers stick around, but drying trend ahead
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Rain chances aren't gone just yet across Yuma and Imperial Counties, but they are starting to fade.
A few isolated showers or weak thunderstorms could still pop up Friday and Saturday, though most of the activity will stay north and east over Arizona's higher terrain. Any storm that does develop locally should be brief and spotty.
Temperatures remain below normal, topping out in the upper 90s for most of the region through the weekend.
By Sunday, drier air takes over, ending rain chances completely and bringing sunnier skies. That dry stretch will carry into next week, with highs climbing back to near or just above the 100-degree mark by Monday and Tuesday.
A slim chance of a stray shower lingers through Saturday, but expect a return to hot, dry, and more typical desert weather starting Sunday.
