Man found dead during Burning Man Festival
GERLACH, Nev. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead during the Burning Man Festival over the weekend.
The man, who has not been identified, was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood Saturday evening.
The discovery was made while the "Burning Man," a large human-shaped wooden sculpture at the center of the festival in Black Rock City, was engulfed in flames.
A participant flagged down authorities and reported seeing the man.
The man's body has been transported to the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office.
Burning Man said in a statement that it is cooperating with law enforcement.
